PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – A man of his word, Daniel S. Catalfumo – founder and president of Catalfumo Construction and Development – delivered on his pledge to donate $100,000 from the Daniel S. Catalfumo Family Foundation to the American Red Cross.

The $100,000 check was presented at a local Red Cross board meeting by Dan Catalfumo and his eldest daughter Cara Catalfumo, administrator of the foundation, on March 26 at the West Palm Beach offices of the Greater Palm Beach Area Chapter of the Red Cross. On hand to accept the contribution were Board Chairman Dr. Mary Ann DuPont; Desmond Keogh, board member and Show House general chairman; and Interim Chief Executive Officer Fred Rosario.

“We are so thankful for the $100,000 donation from the Daniel S. Catalfumo Family Foundation,” said Desmond Keogh, General Chairman of the 2008 American Red Cross Designers’ Show House. “In addition to this generous gift, the Catalfumo Construction and Development Company hosted this year’s Designers’ Show House at their luxury designer-decorated condo 2700 North Ocean on Singer Island, giving attendees a brand-new event experience. Their building expertise, attention to detail, quality work, and support for the continued growth of Palm Beach County and its community organizations have been vital,“ added Keogh. “The American Red Cross is truly grateful for Catalfumo’s involvement and we look forward to providing valuable community services made possible by this generous contribution.”

In addition to allowing 16 top designers to create interiors for a 9,180-square foot Tower Suite at the new2700 North Ocean condominium that, in turn, was the spectacular venue for this year’s Show House fundraiser, Dan Catalfumo made his $100,000 pledge during a surprise announcement at the Show House kick off on February 16.

Catalfumo was the visionary behind and the general contractor for the stunning twin 27-story oceanfront towers located at the southern end of the barrier island.

“We are certain that our pledge will help further the outstanding humanitarian work that the Red Cross does,” Dan Catalfumo was quick to point out.

The Daniel S. Catalfumo Family Foundation was created by Catalfumo and his children in 2003 to benefit local non-profit organizations and community initiatives by giving back to the Southeast Florida community. Since then, the Foundation and affiliated companies have contributed nearly $2 million to worthwhile causes. The Foundation donates funds, materials and supplies to a broad range of organizations that provide food, shelter and emergency assistance; mental and physical health assistance; abuse and neglect prevention; education and the cultural arts; holiday activities; and civic enrichment.
